F 3 la Eighteen war vessels of the Soviet and Hungarian Danube flotillas were
seen in the northern part of the Danube port of Baja, southern Hungary,
in late Hay 1950. There appeared to be 6 Soviet and 12 }Iu garian
vessels, all of which carried one gun and two machine guns visible on
deck. The uachtne guns were fitted Yd th shield,,
2. An acquaintance of source said that at times up to 34 vessels were seen.
At such times some of the vessels anchored in the arm of the Danube near
Dusnok, north of Baja. The vessels always arrive from the north and
leave in the same direction after finishing their exercises. Such exer-
cises are held at least three tunes a month,
C-3 3. A concentration of 17 Soviet gunboats was observed at river kilometer
point 1985 on 29 1950 and 2 June 1950, The vessels were about 22

reported are the same. A reinforce;eerrt of the Soviet Danube Flotilla
