Several trains carrying disassembled sections of temporary barracks passed through the Jueterbog (1 52/aa 69) railroad station between 12 and 20 July 1950. The trains came from the direction of Berlin and proceeded toward ;Wittenberg (N 52/a. 37). 2, A truck convoy coming from the direction of Treuenbrietzen (t'1 53/Z 50) , passed through Jueterbog about 4.30 p.m. on 16 July 1950 The convoy was led by a jeep occupied by four officers, among them a major who signaled the trucks ?dvith a red and a white flag. The trucks of the con- voy included a radio truck, 10 trucks, 7 of Mich towed guns of 76.2 mm 5X6 caliber, allegedly AT guns, and two towed field kitchens. ,ach truck were seen, (1) 5X At 9:30 p.m. on the same day, a convoy of seven motorcycles, including the last with a sidecar, and five armored reconnais- sance cars arrived from the direction of Treuenbrietzen and entered Jueterbog via Schlos trasse. 3. A train of 35 to 40 boxcars without an engine was seen near the 15illionen- bruecke about 5 p.m. on 17 July 1950. The boxcars were occupied by soldiers wearing AFr' insignia. 4. The Fuchsberg Kascrne was occupied to half its capacity between 12 and iD July 1950. 5. The training area -..ast of Jueterbog has been more strictly guarded since about 20 July 1950. It was estimated that about 10,000 troops with per- haps 1,000 tanks were stationed in the area. Two lines of poles carry- ing 10 to 12 and 20 to 24 telephone lines run from Jueterbog to the Heide- hof via ;;erder (N 53/t 79). The ileidehof housed a high unit headquarters commanded by a general. About one third of the 1, 200 temporary barracks which have been under construction since 1949 were not completed on 23 July 1950. Tank and AT artillery units were on the march southwest of Jueterboge They were equipped with numerous T-31. tanks and an unusually large number of tank trucks. Large artillery units with heavy guns moved through I arkendorf (1 52/E 78) on the night of 20 July 19500 6. An alert practize was held in the Blei orn Kaserne, Iiindersi n Kaserne and Turin Kaserne, Jueterbog, at 5:30 pomp on 24 July 1950. the first trucks left the 'Than Kaserne about 6 p.m, They were occupied by soldiers and some of them toured guns of 100 to 120 caliber. The trucks carrying personnel were followed by field kitchens, radio trucks with extended antennae and several, troop columns. The troop columns headed toward Gruenstrasse, Schloss Strasse or Altes Laker. They were armed with rifles and submachine guns and carried gas masks, field bags and rolled blankets.
