1. Two Pe-2s and one single-engine biplane were par?_ed at the rarndorf (P 43/
X 77) airfield on 11 August 1950. * The following formation flew over
the fields At 8:20 a4me a formation of 84 fighters with in-line en vines
flying in two groups of 32 anc: a rear group of 20 planes, came from the
southwest and headed northeast:

Comment. Since # fights of four planes and three planes were observed,
the actual organization of the bomber unit cannot be d etormined. However,
it is possible that the difference in the formations was caused by condi-
tions during; maneuvers, such as breakdown of aircraft, etc < Contrary to
the organization of bomber units in flights of three planes., which was
observed in the Soviet Zone of Germany, it was believed that the bombers
flew in flights of four in Austria. From the number of aircraft assigned
to the training bomber and fighter units it was inferred that practice was
held by one or two regiments.
