1? Bight hundred troops were estimated to be in the FlakJtaserneg
Leipzig (N 52/E 21)-Heiterbliek, between 6 and 10 August 1950,
They wore red-bordered black epaulets, some with tank insignia.
It was believed that only one tank unit with fiedum and heavy
tanks was stationed in the billeting area. The roof of the
garage in the eastern section of the installation vas being
elevated 1 to 2 meters the building

Between 6 and 10 August 1950 the Flak Kaserne, Schoenau housed
300 to 400 trop red-bordered black epaulets with artil.-
Soldiers in the Hindenburg Kaserne wore black-

turned to the post on 12 August 1950.
7. Three JS tanks and six SF guns were seen in the area of the
Heiterbiick Kaserne on 12 .August 1950. More tanks were stored
in a garage. The roof of the northern section of the garage
facing Highway No 87 was being raised 75 meters. A soccer
game in the billeting area on 15 August 1950 was witnessed by
about three companies which seemed to be most troops stationed

The regiment had previously been assumed to be stationed in
Leisni However reports received in the summer of 1949 men-
25X1 tioned Sguns which indicated that the regiment might
be stationed the HHeiterblick Kaserne Taucha4 Information
obtained in late July and early August 1950 bears out the possibi1i
ty that the 64th Gds Hv Tank SP Regt may be stationed in Taucha.
