THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
Early on the morning of 29 September there were 5,000 to 7?000 North Korean
troops scattered in paddies on the sides of the mountains near Chechon (128.,l2
to the Pyongchang (128&2b? 3722) highways, moving toward Pyongchang0 The
troops were accompanied by five tanks and 40 trucks loaded with wounded,
The Volunteer Army and remnants of various (unidentified) units have been
reorganized into the 17 Division of Kangwon Province,, These troops are
equipped with small arm3,,
On 29 ,September there were 19500 North Korean troops in Chechon There were
five mortars on the small hill southeast of the city?
