Kovo is organized into the following nine independent trading sections: a. Heavy :achinery Section, hdirected by Ing. Richard Krasnyl 1 25X1 This section employs about 80 persons. Its offices are located at Palais Platyz, Praha I, Narodni trida, at Praha II, Jungmannova 199 and at Praha II, Palate Fenix, Vaclavske nam. It handles machinery produced by Skoda works in Plzen and Hradec Kralove, CKD in Praha-Karlin, First Brno and Karlovo Pole Engine ring Works (Gottwald Works) in Brno, and the Vitkovice Ironworks (with the exception of thorn items exported by Ferromet). This section is swamped with orders from the USSR, the satellite countries and Czech key investment plants. Delivery is delayed from 36 to 72 months because of a shortage of raw materials and skilled technical personnel. Ing. Fruehaull is in charge of orders for the Czech key 25X1 investment plants. b, ?s and 'Jorkshop Equipment Section?l!directed by Ing. K. Kondl HK1 His deputy is Ing. Polacek; an Seifert is in charge of the machine tools division; Stanislav Strnad is political secretary. This section employs about 150 workers, of whom about 70 percent are members of the Communist Party, but only 15 percent are convinced Communists. The offices of the section are in the Fenix Palace, Vaclavske nam.. Praha. The 1949 export quota for machine tools was 100,000000 kcs; that for 1950 is 1,200,000,000 kcs, 60 percent of which is scheduled to be exported to the USSR and satellite countries. Skoda SUR heavy lathes, Skoda A 20 and A 40 automatic lathes, Plauert? Skoda HVF milling machines, carussels? heavy planing machines, cold thread rolling machines and machines for the manufacture of nails are most in demand. The export of machine tools is unsatisfactory because of the over-production of machines for which there is little iemand. The USSR is given first priority for all machine tools, folic-wed by key investments for Czech heavy industry' 1 25X1 c. High and Low Voltage Electrical Machinery Section,/ directed by E. Jelinowitz. The offices of this section are in the Fenix Palace. It handles products manufactured by Krizik Electrotechnical Works in Praha, CKD, Metre Nation- alized Enterprises in Dlansko and Tesla in Praha.
