1. On 23 July 1950 Bulgarian authorities ordered the peasants to get in their

The strongest political leaders in Bulgaria today are Stoycho Moushanov
and Dimiter Gichev. in a free election the right
wing Agrarians and the Democrats (Gichevists and Moushanovists) would
easily carry the country. Very little is heard of Dr. Georgi M0 Dimitrov
who has little backing except for the small backing given by the Pladnari
(left wing Agrarians, the party of G.M. Dirnitrov)o
Gichev has been badly beaten, worked, and starved,,
Reportedly Giehov is in poor physical condition and has been taken to an
unknown spot in the country to recuperate.
Nikola Moushanov, who is now 80 years old, is in bad health. Aioushanov
had been at Camp Belene, near Svishtov, in 1949. Because-of f'ailin health
he was allowed to go to live with Doncho Smilov, a foi?mer minister in the
cabinet in 193133, who lives in Veliko Turnovo. Stoycho Moushanov, ?rdio
is 50-55 years old, is in good physical condition.
