(USTM IBEWWD SUPPLEMENT TO REPORT NO. 8 H S IS UNEVALUATED INFORb TION la On 20 July 1950 the officials of the Franidurt/Odes (0 53/V 63) railroad station were advised that effective'24 July 1950 special grain trains would be operated between Brest Litovsk and the Soviet Zone of Germany,, These trains, which are loaded with Soviet grain, would have priority over all other traffic, 2. In an operational report of the Cottbus (N 52/A 57) regional rail- road headquarters for July 1950 mention was made that work on the formation of grain shuttle trains had begun. Three trains"wyere formed prior to the end of the month. The dispatch of t c trains and similar ones from neighboring railroad districts had been delayed by failure of the Fr /Oder railroad office to accept them. 3o A daily average of one to two empty trains have been dispatched t Brest Litovsk since 25 July 1950. These trains consist exclusively of boxcars and are designated Getreidependel (grain shuttle trains). 4, Grain shuttle trains began operating on 24 July 1950, The grain, mostly wheat, comes from Brest Litovsk and is directed to Soviet Any supply dumps. The first trains went to Saxony. Way bills were attached to the cars in Frankfurt/Oder. 5. From 13 to 17 August 1950 it was observed that in Frankfurt/Oder the grain shuttle trains coming from Brest Litovsk are directed to Berlin and Saxonny? However, the number of empty grain trains proceeding in the direction of Brest Litovsk is noticeably decreasing, They are esrpected to be discontinued at the end of the harvesting period0 6. No grain trains were dispatched after 22 August 19500 25X1 C CLASSIF-CATION"-' l CONTROL - Um S.
