1. A military training maneuver ended in the Domazlice area on 15 July 1950.
A regiment from,Elatovy trained near Hatrava, and a regiment from Tachov
and two or three companies from Domazlice trained near Skarmanka. The 1st
Regiment of Pilsen trained near Postrekov (1150/P60) under the cover name
"Intallidano For practice in border defense, the regiment used light mourtain
artillery, machine guns? hand grenades, bazookas, and mountain vehicles, but
no heavy weapons were seen. The inhabitants were not permitted to enter the
woods during these mareuverso Only Tellable Communists were selected to guard
the border mountain tcps, although even they were not allowed to approach the
border.
2. On 11 July 1950 at about 11 a new military unit from 25X1
lice arrived in the vicinity of Kienec for summer training in tin mountainous
border region of Sadela, The edvance movement was through Klenec-Novy Poetnekov
(1150/P60). About 700 nen with full field equipment, rifles and sub-machine
guns and accompanied by commanders on horseback made up the unit. They were
also equipped with machine guns bazookas, three light guns, two field kitchens,
horses and wagonno
3. CUB platoons at Uove Udall (N49/Q44), Hirenerk (Jeleni), and Nova Pea (Ni9i-
Q53) are components of the company headquarters at Volar (N49/05). From 15
October 1949 to 10 June 1950, there were 40 active members in these nlatoons
with patrol strength set at 3 men, On 12 Jure 1950, conman-ling ?Mears ef
platoons were given 10 days leave, after ahich time they attended orecinl
training cournes Upon completion of the training, they were traneferreiL to
SNB stations in the Interier, and new commnnding officers were assigned to
the border zone area. All roods lealing to the border area ars under constant
watch by SUB patrols, with the platoon at Novo Udoli controlling railroa& sta-
tions at Uove Udoli, 12ezipotoci and Cerveny Ths0 The SUB platoon at 3tearac
(1149/44) also sends patrol to the Cervory Kriz railrond station. All rail-
road and road bridges on the Vltava (2oldnu) fiver are guarded by 11-03 patrols

be shown to SNB patrols.
4. A new order of service is to be valid on 1 October 1950, but it was put into
effect in some garrisons as early as June 1950. In TurciansIg Svaty Marin
(Q50/069), day duty was extended to 10 p.m., and the daily order was read at
9830 p.m0 every day except Sunday. This extension of duty hours provided time
in most oases for evening lectures on Communistic theory. The groups met in
units of ten with a cell leader. Troops were often kept on duty until 2 p.m.
on Sundays and holidays.
