The barracks on Frankfurter Strasse or Gartenstrasse, Fuerstensralde
(i': 53/V 33), seemed to be almost unoccupied on 18 August 1950. Jate
d ea a red-bordered black epaulets with tank insignia. Truck
entered the installation.
2. Only a few soldiers were seen in the barracks on the road to Braunsdorf.
The sate was locked and an unarmed guard was in the guardhouse. To motor
traffic was observed. i~

L The Fuerstenwalde airfield is bisected by the Fuerstenwalde-: teinhoefel road,,
the barracks and garages being south of the road. The nine barracks buildings
are two-storied and each about 75x15 meters. A wooden fence running north-
south divided the billeting area. The five western buildings were Co percent
occupied by about 500 soldiers and the four eastern buildings about,25 percent
occupied by 150 soldiers. Sentries wore red-bordered black epaulets with
artillery insignia. Dome officers wore tank insignia. 111o motor vehicles or
heavy weapons were observed there on 25 Aunt 1950.
5. Two officers and 13 EM were seen at ' aiming practice with :bur 65-n AA guns
field on 25 August 1950.
