commander of the unit,. Three to fiv. trans' )orts made local flights
every day between 21 and 25 ".ucust 1950. The craws were relieved
after each fli, `it. The trans Tort plane with cargo glider, )revi:)usly
seen on the landing field, was no loigar there. (2)

3. The road via ;uerisa (I3 51/K 27) to the buildings at the field was
blocked. The iobitz-Klausa road eras temporarily used to reach the field.
A ne:r road from Alteni,urg via L:ueasa-.rilchwitz/Krasclmwitz was under
construction. (4)
4. The runway was 30x1,730 to 1,830 metors. hll of it was not yet service-
able. (5) Grading w?_s being. done in the northeastern ext:,-nsion of the
runway and in Vie southwestern section of the field, east of the old
ru,4rray. A new runway or a now circular taxitray :%rac under construction
in the latter section. Trues were being cut on the edge of the ~-rood_s in
the extension of the r?.,n;7ay to northeast.

observations of 13 august 1950. The field is still occupied by one
air transport regiment ecui)ped with about 35 Iii-2s. The re,-;imant was
recently temporarily transferred to :.rfurt-Binderslobon for exercises 25X1A
with army units at the Kindel troop training grounds. Th red blu
and yellow squadron markings were previously reported.

Its oresont location is not known.

(I4) The road was blocked because the concrete m away at the field was
being extended to the north beyond the road. The construction of
a new road is re;jorted for the first time and is plausible for the
reason mentioned.
