No work was being done on the landing field. A flight control station, surrounded by a board fence., and three hangars were on the southern edge of the landing field. Three cars of an express train were standing at the end of the spur track in the southeastern section of the airfield, In the, southwestern section of the field aiming was practiced with four heavy AA guns. 2. The barracks buildings south of the field were occupied by Soviet Army soldiers who were red bordered black epaulets and artillery or tank insignia. Air force soldiers were not seen. 3. 5. No aircraft or flyin& activity were seen at the field between 25 and 31 August 1950. One storehouse, two hangars guarded by artillery soldiers, and the flight control station were on the southern edge of the field. Three Soviets with measur- ing and DF instruments were on the roof of the flight control station. Twenty- five trucks, six medium AA guns, three tanks, two searchlights, and one sound loca- tor were on the landing field. The runway and taxiways seemed to be intact. Tank tracks crossed the area north of the field. The sentries at the barracks build- :nCs south of the field wore red-bordered black epaulets with artillery insignia. On 12 and 13 September 19,0 the airfield was occupied by an artillery unit. There were no Soviet Air Force soldiers. * Improvement word: and material for this pur~ pose were not observed. About 10:15 a.m. on 13 September 1950 a biplane landed at the field and took off again 10 minutes later. 0oldiers practiced with tanks on the edge of the field. 25X1 Corment.
