1. The Upper Austrian Provincial Board of the KPOe maintains a file
containing all police and gendarmerie officials. Alt personal
data, training courses attended and the political attitude of the
officials are recorded.
2. Police officials who are Eommunist Party members are under special
surveillance by the KPOe. In compliance with a Central Committee
directive they have renounced their official party membership in
most cases. This measure was designed to prevent the dismissal
of Co n*nist officials or their transfer to insignificant poster.
