The airfield was between 10. and 20 krn rest of Gomel (31?0TEf52?25?N)9 ylhite Russian SSR, no more than 200 meters from the Gomel-Brest Litovsk (23?42?Ef52059N) railroad line. Hangars were on the northern section of the fiela, which was elevated slightly. Small construction details were grading the field. Three or four hangars with vaulted roofs were: in the northeastern corner of the landing field. # Some small woouen houses were between the f;Leld and the railroad line. No runway was seen, 2.. About 20 twin-engine planes, details of which could not be observed,, and 60 to 70 Jet fighters were parked in two or three rows, one behind the other, in the western and northern sections of the fieldo The jet planes h..d wings with a slight dihedral, noth-a1 rudder assembly, wheels under wings and set wide apart, and a bulge, which was definitely Been, under the 'fuselages This is the first report on an airfield with hangars along the Gomel-Rechnitsa railroad line.
