14 Civilian aviation in Communist China is under the Civil Aviation Bureau of
the Peo-lets Military Council. This bureau controls the China Aatitmal
Aviation Corporation and Central Air Transport Corporation, which were set
q') with personnel who defected from the Nationalists. There are no regularly
scheduled flights because of the limited number of planes available and
possible attacks by i ationalist planes. However,, there is nary-scheduled air
service between Chungking and Canton, Since January 1950, the Corumlists
have provided air service o z the same basis between Peiping and Lanc'. ocr
