KIM I1-song and the families of important (unidentified) North Korean
government officials are now in Mukden.
It was rumored in Pyongyang that the USSR and Chinese Communist
governments refused KIL Il'song?s request in late September that they
enter the war against the UN forces immediately.
It was also rumored in Pyongyang that PAK Hon-yung,p Vice Premier of
the North Korean government, was assassinated in late September by
order of KIM Illsong. PAK was assassinated because he favored making
peace with UN forces directly after the Inchon invasion.
On 1 October all Soviet advisers left Korea for the USSR.
In areas governed by North Korean authorities all men between the ages
of 16 and 50 are being conscripted in the "National Volunteer Army,,"
regardless of their physical condition.
