It was rumored in Pyongyang that the USSR and Chinese Communist governments refused KIL Il'song?s request in late September that they enter the war against the UN forces immediately. It was also rumored in Pyongyang that PAK Hon-yung,p Vice Premier of the North Korean government, was assassinated in late September by order of KIM Illsong. PAK was assassinated because he favored making peace with UN forces directly after the Inchon invasion. On 1 October all Soviet advisers left Korea for the USSR. In areas governed by North Korean authorities all men between the ages of 16 and 50 are being conscripted in the "National Volunteer Army,," regardless of their physical condition.
