THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. No special military preparation were noted recently on the route betwee?3
Szczecin and Warsaw. Since 30 September 1950 all trains from Szczecin
going north along the border are being closely checked and border control
there has been tightened.
2. The currency reform is causing arxest since the rules allow the changing
of only 100,000 zlotys of bank 'savings at the rate of one hundred for
three new zlotys. Balances n.re being exchanged :;t the rate of one hundred
for one, while prices are being regulated on a one hundred to three basis.
Police are arresting any persons who criticize this reform. The new sharp
penalties for black market activities include death.,
