THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
From 15 April 1950 to 20 July 1950 no" Rumanian Army barracks were being
k gilt by Sovromconstructi0 No. 7 at Basarabi. The barracks were nearly
completed in July at a cost of 91 million lei. Twenty-e:i ght one-story
buildings were constructed. They are as follows:
a0 Seven buildings with quarters for about 100 men in each building.
b. Two buildings will be used as offices for the Rumanian Army,
c,. Three buildings will be used as dining halls.
d. Five buildings will be used as depots,
o. Two buildings will have apartments for married officers and their
families.

is 100 meters long, 25 meters wide, and eight meters high. This will have space for 30 tanks.
2. The above barracks are located 400 meters northwest of the Basarabi r{Alroaadll
station, The 25 I(otorized Rumanian Brigade, commanded by Colonel Colgeag,
be quartered in the new barracks. This brigade has 25 medium tanks$ the
caterpillar tractor type with a non-revolving turret. The brigade also has
a small number of anti-aircraft and anti-tank guns, and machine guns.
3. In July 1950 a high ranking Soviet naval officer accompanied by Rumanian
Colonel Pilarinu, responsible for the construction of the military works in
the Constants area, and two Rumanian Navy captains arrived from Constanta
at IAsarsbi to inspect the progress of the work on the barracks. The officers
