rice collected for Cam. unist troops in Peiping was
stored in the hilly area outside the city. It had previously been
stored within the city limits.
(Communist authorities stap~)ed buying homes of businessmen
obliged to sell their homes to meet taxes and bond purchases. The Commu-
nists have begun selling those home at low prices,*
