The barracks installation comprised four undamaged four= story red brick buildings arranged around the barrack; yard, l er ents of the former Geiman 38th Inf Reg,t had been quartered in the installation prior to the war. From 1,000 to 1,200 young soldiers were aeon in Glatz on the occasion of the Parade on 1 May 1950. Soldiers of the 1927 and 1928 classes served with the unit in Aur ,ust 1950. 30 Submachine guns, carbines and light machine guns were observed when the so1- d.ers were marched out. The submachine guns which were of Soviet origin were fitted i~.ith wooden stocks and dream magazines. The machdne guns were belt fed. Only horserarm vehi.ele:s Tigre observed with the unit. Ip The uniforms of the unit were in good condition. The soldiers wore Polish. type four-cornered service caps, trousers tucked into laced boots, and over- coats in zrinter0 5,, The barracks installation located on the north side of the road to Neudock, about 500 meters east of the Clatz railroad station, was presumably also occu4 pied by Polish in "'antry., The .nsta? lativn comprised fire four tort' build nge facing the street -with their gable ends.
