In July 1950, a meeting of Yugoslav technicun instructors revised the
program of instruction at the Naval Techniewn at Rijeka, it was decided to
continue the nautical and economic courses and to discontinue the shipping
and radio courses. The two courses now in progress have an enrollment of
approximately two hundred students. Forty students who formerly attended
shipping classes will be placed aboard ships for one year of practical
training. The classroom facilities are limited, since the naval school,
the mess hail, and the living quarters for some of the students are located
in the same building. As a result of the overcrowded conditions, the school
functions in two shifts, morning and afternoon.,
