ENCLOSURES (NO. & TYPE) l o Prior to 16 Septerrber 1950, the infantry battalion in Podborany ON 51/L 09) had Utvar No 6983 and was quartered in a large barracks installation located on both sides of an unidentified street. Battalion commander was Lieutenant Cc:.onel Demuth, (fnu). The battalion was subordinate to an unidentified division rr. mended by one )3ocek, (fnu). , co 2. The battalion, 800 to 900 men strong, was organized as four infantx'co a mortar company of about 50 mens a heavy machine gun company of about 1 ~5 mess, a submachine gun company of about 100 men and an AT gun company of about 70 men. 3. The battalion concucted alert practice twice a month, Thile night exercises were seldom held.
