The following rail traffic and other activity were observed on the Soviet
side of the Soviet-Iranian border between 18 and 20 December 1950.

.,estbound, Nakhichevan to Yerevan: 7 trains made up
of 30 passenger cars, 17 tank cars, 26 cars carrying
lutuber, 57 closed cars, 2 carloads of trucks, 6 of
lime, and 3 of sand.
Eastbound, Yerevan to Nakhichevan: 7 trains at night.
Westbound, Dzhulfa to Nakhichevan: 8 trains composed
of 33 passenger cars, 38 tank cars, 98 closed cars,
4 carloads of iron, .1.0 of wood, 21 of trucks, 4 of
jeeps, 12 of sand, and 5 of timber,,
Eastbound, Nakhichevan to L)zhulfa: 2 trains composed
of 39 passenger cars,
18 December 1500-1630 Target practice and military maneuvers were carried on
hours opposite Shah Abasi (not located),
An iron watch tower is under construction opposite the
Iranian border post of Kalissa Kharabeh (not located),

One truck arrived at the :Papas post from Kalus
village (not located)and then went toward
Gaduk (38-35N, 48.-20E)0 one truck went from
Fargi--JCandi (not located) toward Qishlag, (38&43N,
48-20E).
1400 hours A white rocket was fired at the Qishlag post.
There was routine patrol activity in trizs sector.
