From conversations heard it seemed that most of the soldiers were flying personnel. The ranking officers were captains, Assembly work was porfoimed daily on the nine biplanes avail:;ble at the insti- tute. The aircraft were occasionally sprayed with a gray-green acetone paint. Technical and general instruction was given in the class rooms. The trainees were from. 28 to 30 years of age.
