Che factory 4as to cover an area of about one square kilometer and was to con- sst of einht ferroconcrete halls of various sizes, one administrative build- ing, and one building which was to serve as a personnel office. All the halls were to have normal ferroconcrete foundations. Hall No. 2 was completed in nay L950. and only the ferroconcrete foundations for halls No. 3,4,506,7, and 8 had leen laid by that time. The Vitkovice Iron -Forks fIrn shed the steel re leired in the construction, but the steel from a dismantled retrsry in l'otava was used for hall No. 1. 2, In charm oc the construction was an architect named Pavlik from Prostejov, and ehout 2,000 construction eorkers from Prostelov were employed, 3. A railroad connectin7 the plant with the double-track railroad from nlomouc to Unicev was also built. The entire plant was surrounded, by a brick wall 4 m nigh- Electric eurrent was eurpliel by the 'rest 71oravian Power Plant, 5 , Peol,ction in hall No. 1 was started in December 1949 under the nanaeenent of -lenb c and under the direction o2 the Skoda Uorks In Pilsen.
