1Q On 20 December 1950 one paratroop brigade, consisting of tyro regiments, was
ordered to move from Changchun to Shanghai and Nanch'ang (11543s 28-40).,
one regiment to each destination. This brigade was originally moved from
Chiamuasu to Changchun via Tdunghua for use in the Korean war, but because
of "strategic demand" it has norr been transferred south to awcit participation
in the Taiwan invasion.* At present there are 2,700 officers and men in this
brigade.
2. In late December approximately 10;000 men from units of the 3 Field Arnr
were stationed at Chinhsi (120M38, !10 56) and Iiulutao. These trocr-)s may
either be transferred to Korea or to Shanghai for the Taiwan invasion.
On 17 and 18 December 170 Soviet jet aircraft and 52 Soviet night bombers
arrived at K i.argian Airfield, Shanghai.
