The Communists will attack Taiwan at the end of the Korean war or before. Soviet submarines will participate, operating out of China coast bases.* 2. The Chinese Communists are procuring strategic materials for shipment to the USSR. Principal Irurchases are petroleum Products, of which there is a serious shortage in the USSR. 3. The Communists will attack Hong Kong at the outbreak of a world war. The object will be to seize the material stored there. As an excuse for this attack they will construe the outbreak of war as British association with American offensive policies aimed toward Communist China. A very large number of jet aircraft are being based in North and Central China. The first contingent has reached Canton,-* 5. The Chinese Communists intervened in the Korean war in order to help a weak nation. `Thor.-,fore., they must continue to fight until the Americans are out of Korea. They have a similar obliation toward Southeast Asian countries and are expediting preparations for a drive southward. 25X1A 25X1A 25X1A Party, ? Com cent. it was announced that a squadron of Soviet submarines would arrive in Nrtangtung waters in early December. Comment. During December the Soviets sent 100 aircraft a Kyang urn and the same number to Fran - si 170 jet aircraft arrived in Shanghai on 17 and 18 December.
