`t'horough clearing of the mine field in the Hvar Channel, between the Islands
of drac and Hvar, has been completed.. The mine field in the Korcula Channel,
between the Islands of Scedro and Korcula, was cleared in the latter part
of 1950, and vessels at present may navigate freely through the channel. On
the other hand, clearing of mine fields in the Bay of Kotor has been very
superficial, and many loose magnetic mines menace the safety of navigating.
Mine fields still currently existing are located in the following places:
a.. Between Cape Raznica on the Island of Korcula, and Capes Sparozni
and Glavat on the Island of Mijet.. The mine field is triangular in
shape.
b, Between Cape Grua on the Island of Mljet and the Island of Sipan.
a;:., Betweei the Island of Sipan and the Island of Lopud, shutting off the
Lopud Gate.
d? Between the Island of Lopud and the Island of Kolocep, shutting off
the Kolocep Gate.
A general survey of all, mine fields was carried out in the middle of 1950
and many mine fields were cleared, many fortified, and new ones laid.
