. On 7 July,. guerrilla forces landed on Tung T Sou Tao
Yuhuan li ien (121-13, 28-09) and were informed by local residents that
the Communists were holding?, a meeting. The guerrillas attacked suddenly,
killing 406 Communists, sinking 14 boats, destroying one bazock2, ti.url
capturing 215 rifles,. nine pistols, one bazooka, three light machine
guns, four carbines, forty drums of gasoline, fifteen bundles of
bedding, and some documents

Communist warehouses, taking one prisoner and capturing 29 pistols and

(121-330 28-06) from 1hihtang (121-36, 28-17). Tuerrilla reinforcements
drove out the Communists on the following day. The Communists lost 32 men

killed and five wounded and lost two carbines, four Thompson sub-

k. On 16 July, the 2nd uetaohment attacked the Lu Chiao Oro district
of liuan,gyen. They returned to their base after killing 51 ~,omn,unists
and capturing four pistols, 29 rifles, and one light machine gun.
1. On 17 July, the same detachment attacked Sha Pu (s'7) and Shen Chia
T'sun They killed 32 men, captured 16 including the
villa*n leader, and took five ;pistols and 19 rifles.
2. Engagements of the Chekiang People's Anti=Communist Assault Army included:
a. On 25 June CI-i'L-;N Jun;. (p~1 and his unit landed in Chaliu
(121-2.!4,, 29-11), near Sann.en. They were disrupted by the Communists and
lost 125 men killed although ~ney sank three Communist junks.
b. The 1 UT Chien ( , ) unit, stationed in the Ningpo, Hsieen;shan
risien 1121-51, 2929) and Sanren areas, attacked the hi;'.:say between
'isian'shan-Chiang (121- 29- ), ling go, and Linhai on 1' and 19 July.
The guerrillas lost five dead and six wounded but killed 112 Communists
and sank four motor junks.

b. On 6 July, elements of the army ambushed the Communist Anchi
(119 3, 30-44) Independent 3attalion near the Tusur.,kuan
(119-4h, 30-35) mountainous area and Ch' i Li rg a han (4 . .14
~) .
The Battalion was dispersed; twelve men were killeU ands two pistols,
nine rifles, and one light machine gun captured. he guerrillas lost
four wounded and five killed.
. The Fukien People's .anti-Comnunist assault Army fought the following
engagements
a. On I June, an unidentified unit attacked LO Tien-yang
leader of the 13th Company, 232nd Regiment, 75th Division, 25th Army.
The entire company, numbering 84 men, surrendered in Hsia Hu Chen
(T o JA) and isiapu lisien (119-39, 2653). The guerrillas captured
two piskols~. 5I rifles, three light machine guns, and two small guns
(unidentified) -
b. On 5 June, one battalion of the5th Letschment attacked Ch'ing Shan
Tao (* tl_j ?;j), and We Kuei ( ) in Hsiapu Iisien, ilthou;h
Co n-unist reinforcements arrive , the guerrillas regained their, base
in safety after killin7 90 Communists and capturing P7, besides
twenty rifles and. two light machine guns.
o. On 8 June, the 12th Detachment attacked alai Shan Chen ( L-W11.,)
and Heng Shan ( 04) in Nanpirb Hsion (118-08. 26-39) and Yungtai
i#sien (118-53, 2 ~li7). After four hours of fighting, the guerrillas
retreated, having killed 54 Qo niunists and captured 25 rifles and one
light machine gun. Five guerrillas were wounded and four killed,
d. On 16 June, the 10th Detachment of the 14th Column was encircled by
Cemnunist forces at Ch'i Ch'! (-I.+ ;J), Shih Pa Tu
ik'ang K'eng Shih ( tib,6). Juerr'tlla reinforcements a rived and
put the Communists to flight. The guerrillas had ten men killed and
ten wounded and lost 25 rifles but captured 16 rifles. The Communists
lost ten men killed, 13 wounded, and 19 surrendered.
e. On 3 July, the 4th Battalion of the 14th Detachment attacked the
Communists in Yin Te (), Loyuan Asian (119-33, 26-27). After
killing four, Communists and wounding five, the guerrillas withdrew;
they lost one prisoner.
f. On 11 July, the :arrison Battalion, patrolling at ''ei ilua (approximately
119-50, 25-58) and lu !(lien Pi ( ), destroyed some Communist
vessels. They captured one junk, four rles, one carbine, and one
Thompson submachine gun and killed seven and wounded three Communists,
On 17 July, indications that the 'ommunists here preparing an attack
led ;:o the dispatch of guerrilla patrol boats to Pingtan :isien
(119-47, 25-30) and Changlo iaien (119-34. 25-56) coasts. The
guerrillas sank three Communist junks, killing 60 men, and captured
15 prisoners. one junk, six rit'les, and one light machine gun.
h. On 19 July, near the coast of Fang iisu :.'en a guerrilla
patrol vessel fought five Communist craft. T (bmmunists wounded
three., guerrillas and lost twelve men killed before landing and
makink retreat.

killed and retreated towards Chien Chen in order to avoid
further losses.
