At about 8:30 a.m. on 16 11overiber 1950, 44 T-34 tanks, and three SP guns were observed leaving the .Altes Lager b Doeberitz (N 53/ Z 65) through the Rohbeck gate. A soldier sat-bn each tank hold- ing two red flags. The column of armored vehicles at close inter- val, moved to the troop training grounds, At about 9 a.m. another column of 26 T-34 tanks followed, each tank carrying a soldier with two red flags. About 45 minutes later two columns of six artil- lery pieces each towed by semi-armored trucks 25X1 25X1 left the southern gate of A es Lager and pro- ceeded to the troop training grounds. The caliber of the guns was estimated at 120 to'l50 mm. Each truck carried six to eight sol- diers wearing red-bordered black epaulets without branch-of-service ins is. 2. Units which left .Alter Lager through the southern gate at about 10 a.m. included a unit of five officers and 44 EM another unit of four officers and 36 EM a third unit of four officers and 52 EM, and a fourth unit of three officers and 52 EPA. Three officers walked behind the last unit, The troors wore red- bordered black epaulets without branch-.of-service insignia and carried submachine guns or carbines, field bags, field spades and folded bland-rets slung across their shoulders. Ten to 15 soldiers of each platoon carried three hand grenades in their belts. The units marched to the troor training grounds.
