In the Chunchon (127-44, 37-52) and Chujon-ni (127-56, 38-00) areas 'forth Korean mobilization officers are selecting young men affiliated directly or indirectly with the Korean Labor Party for training as basic and specialized shock troops in undetermined areas near the 38th Parallel. There are four or five North Korean officers attached to each training school. The trainees are divided into groups according to their education or lack of it; the educated trainees receive a two-week course, and the uneducated are trained for one month. Graduates of the course receive the rank of sergeant. 2. All young men remaining in areas occupied by the Chinese Communists and North Koreans must join the North Korean army regardless of their party affiliation. Seventy percent of the conscripts are anti-Communist. 3? the State Security Units of both Chinese Communist and North Korean forces in the Chunchon area were recruiting and training informants and anti-UK spies chosen from the following: Underground Communist workers and others who have proved loyal to the North Korean government.
