1. Intrac GmbII and all Hungarian purchasing agencies in Vienna are non
refusing to sign contracts unless delivery is guaranteed vi.thin 60 days.*
Because of the failure of many f oreign suppliers to deliver on schedule the
Hungarians are norr buying from local sources only. '
20 A dealer in Vienna rho recently offered to deliver sheet steel to Feranion*w
by August 19>1 ryas told that no deliveries are acceptable after 1 April 19,51.

Iorent: This is not believed to be an indication that Soviet and
Soviet--controlled purchasing offices in Austria are dissolving within 60
days. Rather., the time limitation is imposed because of numerous refusals
by suppliers to honor contracts signed prior to recent price rises. Private
Austrian firms are also hesitant to sign long; term contracts becwase of
si .u.lar experiences with suppliers.
