THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. The central management of the East Bohemian Mine is loested at Trutnov
(051/075). Its manager is one David, a fanatical ComeauWst.
2. The Stachanov coal mine, located at Radvanice (051/G85), has 300 employees'
including leading technicians and office employees. Thera are relatively
few Conmunist Party members among the employees because about 80 percent
of them are Germans who have no political affiliation. /eading personnel
at the mine include the following:
a. Viktor Gach, head of the mine. He is married: lives at Radvanies, and is
a fanatical Communist.
b. Rundstuck, security officer of the mining area (revir); he is a fanatical
and dangerous Communist.
c. Karel Klis? security officer of the mine. He is a fanatical Communist
and is chairman of the Communist Partly organization at the mine.
d. Gabriel, chairman of the trade union (ROH) at the mina; he is a devoted
Communist.
e. Sedlacek, rine foremen; a devoted Communist.
f. Kasrer, mire foreman; be is a Gernan.
g. Milan Kincl. He works in the office and is n nominal Communist.
3, The Stachanov mine is about 800 n deep mid is entered by a small rope railmoad.
Daily prciucton consists of about 11 railroad cars of coal, each ear carrying
10 tons,
4. The average wage of the miners is about 5,000 Kea monthly. Shockwerkers earl as
much as 302000 Kos per month. Baudys2 the beet sliockworker in the mina, has been
known to earn 30,000 Kos monthly, An assistant worker receives about 3,000 Kcs
monthly.
5. The mine is guarded by 13 man who are armed with pistols and submachine guns.
They are commanded by Kleeka? a devoted Commenist. Their task is to guard the

6 From October 1949 to April 1950D Soviet experts made test borings for uranium
at this mine, but the results of these tests are not knaan. Dmring that time
about 20 STB monbzro were stationed at Radvanicov and they were recalled in
April 1950 uhen tho tests were ti;rminated.
7, A Soviet mission has been established at Trutnov for the purpose of making
test borings for uranium in all mines in the East Bohemian mining area.
