1. On 21 December 1950 it was requested that dammed locomotives be replaced.
The request was answered with information from the Erfurt railroad head-
quarters that only 80 locomotives in storage were available in the railroad
district and that the release of these locomotives must be approved by
the Soviets., Of these locomotives 30 were stationed in Erfurt and six in
Eisenach. The locations of the other reserve locomotives have not yet been
determined.
* omment,, The reserve locomotives are believed to be the so-called
sinter reserve which, by order of the Soviets] had to be formed in all
the eight railroad district by 1 October 1950, According to this order,
65 locomotives had to be earmarked as a reserve of the Directorate General
and 27 as a reserve of the local railroad headouarters the i furt dis~-
trict,
