2. On 18 February the rwangtung authorities banned sea traffic between Hong
Kong and Shektou (4,47,v ).** Gunboat Number 11-is patrolling the Nantoon-
Sheklou area.

4. On 20 January the Pearl River Defense Headquarters sent a vessel loaded
with six long-rango guns to Bocce Tigrisewm-e Also aboard Were 28 Soviet
advisers and techniciane who were to install the guns at Bcoca Tigris and
then plan the repair Of blockhouses and the construction of more fortifications
at Liehhuashan (115- p 237 )4
Prior 20 January 11 ships fernei-ly sunk offIkdayma and the Leichou Peninsula
were raised by the 15 Arm; Creep. These ships included the warships CHIANG
IMO )$ CHIANG SDI )1 and CHIANG-1131A? (iL ). On 20 January
the ships were taken to the Whampoa shipyards, where they -will be repaired and
used for river defense.***
6. In late January 22 small gunboats under the-command of LIN P ging Ole ) were
patrolling between Whampea and Bocce Tigris.
