1. On 10 February the Chinese Communist 609 61, 62, 70, 79 Armies and three
unidentified armies, with a total of approximately 200,000 men were in
the Pyongyang-Sariwon.-Chongbangsan (125-b5, 38?35) (YC 407b)?'Sunchon
(12556, 3925) (YD 5627) area,*
2. Because of UN artillery and air raids in Seoul, the Chinese Communists
were moving on 12 February to the VJangsi,m?-ni (127-02., 37-33), Chongnyangani
(outside the Seoul East Gate), and Uijongbu (127-03,, 37-Lw) areas. Approxi-
mately 15 trucks carrying Chinese Communist troops were observed passing
the Tongyang Theatre going west. There are North Korean artillery
positions at Nam San (South Mountain), Yongsan (126?58, 37-32) (CS 2056),
Mapo, and in the Sinchon (West Gate) area. Seoul is under a 2J4 hour curfew.

3. On 12 February three black jet aircraft with cyrillic markings and no
insignia were observed east of Seoul.
4. A line-crosser who penetrated 3 wiles into Seoul on 21 February encountered
no Chinese Communist troops; he believes that few troops are left in the
city.
25X1A # N Comment. According to-the 60, 61, and 70 Armies
25X1A were to go o Korea under the command of NIEH Jung-chen. Another
agency reported the 62 Arznr in Szechuan in early December. There have
been no previous reports on the existence of a Chinese Communist 79 Army.
