1. No changes in the occupation of the ~)chuetzen Kaserne on i1ernauerr
strasse? Zberswalde (N 53/V 08 ), were observed between 2 and 5 Jan-
uary 1951. 0 )out 83 :)ercent of the barracks windows visible from the
autside were lighted on the evening of 5 January. A laborer employed
there said that the installation was occupied to capacity. The strength
and the branches of service of the various units quartered there could
not be deteruinod. AAA troops seemed to have constituted the largest
contingent of troops who have been quartered there since the fall of
1250, when the installation was re?ortoc to have beaa,n -"u11,"7 occupied.
The order of strength of the other troops quartered there seemed to be
AT artillerymen, tank troopers, rocket launcher troops,, si, al troo;:5s
and motorized infant troops,in that sequence. A general was soon

2. About 80 percent of the windows in two barracks buildings of the
.krtillorio Kaserne on Freienwralderstrasse were lighted on the evening
of 4 January, while windows in all other barracks buildings were fully
lighted. The conclusion which might be drawn from this fact, that the
installation was occupied to capacity with l=out 0,000 men, was doubted.
by source because of other'contradictin observations. Source thought
that half of the troops in the Artillorie Kaserrie were tan,, troops
while the other half belonged to motorized infantry, mortars and AT
artillery units. The singing of marching= units and the shouting of
commands were heard frail the drill fields of both sections of the
billeting area on 5 January? No troops were seen leaving the

in the buildings on the northeastern premises of the plant, and in
the private houses of tho Ardolt family south of the plant, An officers'
