Source states that Andrei Kilochko, " who had been assisting Aleksandr Berezin, the Soviet Commercial Attache in Beirut, was transferred to the Soviet Legation proper as a First Secretary on 20 January 1051, Source adds that he has been told by a qualified informant that Kilochko will be ti orking on "political matters." 2. Source states that the new TABS correspondent in Beirut, replacing Aleksandr Sergeyev8" is J. Stovbuna*** who has already joined the Foreign Press Association in Beirut. S. A well-placed informant states that Stovbun has just arrived in Beirut from Moscow. He states that Stovbun is married and that his wife is very young. According to the informant, she has just completed her university studies, and intends to perfect her French while in Lebanon. The informant states that Stovbun and his wife intend to establish many contacts with the Lebanese and will do a large amount of entertaining,, The Stovbuns will live in Sergeyev?s former apartment, in which the TABS office itself is also located. 4. The same informant has observed that Stovbun speaks French well, but does not seem to be able to speak Arabic.**** According to this informant? Stovbun is ethnically a "Russian type" and is "almost as likeable as Sergeyev." 25X1 A * Comment. In- it was reported that Kiloohko had left 25X1 A Beirut for Rome, Italy.
