1. An army, of an army group conr.+anded by CH17N Hsi_lien*, 2 Field Arrq,
which was working on the Chungking-Chengtu 'tailway, was ordered to
Chungking; at the end of ')ecember for reorganizatinn and rest. Personnel
of the "npineerin? Administration believe this army was ordered into the
Chinese Connunist Army to reinforce the Korean front and that the army
will be led north by CH0^N.
2. Construction of the railway is nroceding unhampered because the vacancy
left by the army troops has been filled by 42,000 conscripted civilian
laborers.
