1, The Albanian Government is taking measures to suppress the allegedly
movement of resistance throughout the coup growing
up the Soviet Embassy is considered to be ue' of which the attempt to blow
symptomatic.
2;, The Government has reportedly again ordered that all arms (including those
used for hunting) be turned in to the police within ten days?
3. The number of Soviet "experts" in Albania has reportedly risen to 25,000 as
a result of Hoxhaus lack of faith in his own entourage and the Albanian armed
forees. In the event of revolt, Roxha was expected to seek Soviet protection.
4. The discharge of the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers and the
Minister of Industry* is cited as a further indication of RoxhaIs
preoccupa
tion with the disloyalty of his official entourage; state that both these former officials are now is' prisounco unconfirmed reports
