lu On 2 March 1951 several component units of Vie 57th Guards Uotorized Rifle
Division left their quarters in Naumburg and 'ieissenfels. They did not return
on that day.
2. A convoy of the 57th Guards Iiotorized Division left the barracks installations
on Flo amaing.'or e , ,lsumburgg on C Iittreh and headed southyrest. Appro=imately
30 truck-toned pieces or artillery, probably AT guns,, rrc:re observed with the

7fle Division left their quarters only for short field e.ncrcies in the vicinity
of their posts. It is doubtful that major con.poncntc of the division would
move out to the T urinl.ian troop training areas at early a date as this for
the -,x=r ;,raining pro,,rw:a. Similar information out short-term field
exercises held by elements of other divisions near their home stations has
been received from the Russian Zone of Germany for about this same period.
