In 1948 the Ministry of Labor reorganized the Trudovak units, The Director
General, Colonel Angel Tsanev and his assistants, Lieutenant Colonel Janko
Kaneti, maintain staff headquarters in Sofia. There are eight Trudovak
Districts, called Oblasts (comparable to reginnts); under each Oblast are
Groups (comparable to battalions); in each Group are working sections, called
Chetas (comparable to companies); and subordinate to the Chetas are Edros
(comparable to platoons)

litical commissar. Within this Group one of the Chetas was assigned

political commissar. This Cheta, like others in the Group,-is composed of
three Fdros of 180 to 200 men each, which in turn are sub-divided into squads
of 15 to 20 men.
The Third Trudovak Oblast at Sliven is commanded by Colonel Neykov; the deputy
corunander and political commissar is Major Iliyev, Some of the military
