1. From 20 to 23 February 1951,E the Artillerie Kaserne in Perleberg
(M SLi/T 70) was still occupied by the troops previously observed
there. Troops wearing red: bordered black epaulets and engaged in
basic infantry training numbered about 120 on 21 February and
about 100 on 23 February. A wreath laying ceremony at the Soviet
cemetery on 20 February was attended by representatives of the
German authorities a Soviet general, 30 officers and a military
band. There were no enlisted personnel. The ceremony overj, the
general and 16 officers returned to the Perleberg airfield while
the other officers moved to the Artillerie Kaserne. The officers
rode in motor vehicles

2. The Perleberg airfield installations were still occupied by Soviet
Army troops. No training activity was observed. Motor vehicles seen
at the airfield
a general had his headquarters at the airfield
and the Perleberg tank units were assigned., at least administra-
tively., to tank units in Ludwigslust and Parchim.

entire output of the bakery was delivered to Soviet units at the post.
The bakery received 2,900 kg of flour every other day.
Conment. The information indicates no change
The information in the present report that a genera re erne
to the Perleberg airfield after the wreath-laying ceremony indicates
that the Hq 18th Mecz Div may be located there. The motor vehicle
belon the 18th Mecz Div.
