4. B.F. CON suggested that the students already selected should be sent to
Peiping as soon as possible, but TAT'! Kiet-..hock objected, arguing that great
care was needed in selecting students who were to go; those who 'ad been
sA1ected had not yet been properly screened, their numbers fell short of
+he requirement; a.nd there was also the financial difficulty. The proposal,
he argued, should therefore be postponed for the time being. The meeting
accepted TAN Siet,-hockta view, only RSIAO Kang supporting B.P. ONEN'e
proposals,

should be considered again after he Second Political Consultative Assembly
in Peiping.** This motion was unanimously approved.

Comm . TTNG Sh u-chip is reportedly a member of the Chinese
Cornnun387 Perty who came to Burma via Yunnan in August or September 19550
under arrangements nsde by B.F. CHEN. There is no further information
on the students.
Comment. This Second Political Consultative Assembly was
reportedly scheduled for (Parch 1951. However, there is no evidence
that it has met yet.
