P.etveen 3 and h:30 p.m. on 24 :7ebruary 1951, nine Pfig-1s, four biplanes, and three conventional fighters were parked on the eastern edge of the Dessau (II 52/ 06) airfield. Eight additional jet fighters, which were ready for take-off, were parked close to the flight control station on the soutllern edge of the field. Their numbers could not be identified. There was no flying because of hazy weather and cloudy skies. Personnel of the field were quartered in two former administration buildirk a south of the field. Their strength could not be deter- mined. The sentries were relieved by a platoon of 40 soldiers who wore blue epaulets. 2. A radio installation, consistinc of a. radio truck .and a mast about 10. to 12 meters high, was located in the northeastern section of the field.
