1. The VP school and VP Doreitschaft in Prenzlau were deactivated
in early Januzry 195l. llomelmr, most of the cadre personnel of
the two units were still in Prenzlau. It was intended to re-
organize the VP Bereitschaft in a strength of 2,400 men. Some of
the personnel of the tmo deactivated units were transferred to
Saxony and Thurinj.a.,
2. Ir earl- December 1950, VP Inspekteur Paul Liarkgrafs formerly
police nresident of East Berlin, arrived at the post as the new
commandinc officer of the Beroitschaft after having been trained
at the nose= Academy. Meinelt? (fnu), the former commanding
officer of the unit, was placed under his command. VP Kommandeur
Eisenkolb arrived as new ;r1: chief.
