Soviet Army dei..ots located on the northwest side of the main road from the city
center of Breslau (P 52/0)31) to Nundsfold (I- 52/C 52), about )3O meters north-
east of the :Toot :;arszawski (.,;arscw :ridge) across the Oder Rivers were Lbserved
between the summer of 194: and Seatember 1950. The instal tion was bounded by
Ul. 7"arcina Kro:.:era on the south: ast, Ul. Piotra ezalkowskiego on the northeast,
the Ereslau-Hundsfeld railroad line on the northwest and Aleja Boja Zelenskiego,
on the southwest. The i nstallation was conposed of about eight warehouse areas,
each area consistinr; of about six low wooden warehouses, each approximately 45
meters long. Local residents said that this installation was used as a depot by
the former &man RAD (Reich Labor Service) prior to 1945. In the summer of
1943 the ins tallationi was occupied by Russians and guarda50X1
by sentries wearing red-bordered epaulets. Ile chances or expansions had been
observed prior to the summer of 1950. Soldiers observed in the depot were
between 20 ane, 30 years of age. Sone of them wore war decorations. 50X1

Soliet soldiers had been quartered in brick barracks installations at Krietern
(Krzyki), a suburb on the southwestern edge of Breslau.
3. Only a few Soviet soldiers were seen in the streets of Breslau prior to the
summer of 1950. The civilians were not friendly with the troops.
4. It was observed between July and September 2950 that Soviet troops were quartere
in a former German barracks installation north of the city sector of Kosel 50X1-HUM
(P 52/0 L2). The installation was located on the west bank of :,he Oder River,
opposite the suburb of 0 uttz (P 521C /12) and northwest of the terminus of 50X1
streetcar line No 3. **

Coment. The Soviet installation near the city sector or Kriotern is 50X1
Dossily ,,he Soviet clothinc depot in Breslau-Opperau.
Coment. The barracks installation in-Losel iu possibly the former 50X1
German Pionier Laserne wLich was destroyed during, the war.
Comment. All ,three installations are reported for the first Limo. The
two latter installations probably house Soviet supply depots. It is believed
thaf, Ereslau is used mainly as a supply center of the Soviet Army ancl that no
troop units are stationed there.
