The idagyarovar barracks installation, located on the south side of the road to Level (P 48/Y 06), east of the junction of the road to Losonszolnok (P 48/Y 06), was occupied by a motorized infantry battalion. Units of 60 to 80 troops were frequently observed marching out of the install. ion. The troops were armed with submachine guns, rifles and light Machine guns. The submachine guns had drum nagazines, the light machine guns ware air-cooled. The unit was equipped with Hungarian Raba trucks. 2. The construction of an extensive engineer troop training grounds, at Nac:yarovar, on the western bank of the Little Danube, north of the mouth of the Leitha River, was started in the fall of 1949. In early September 1950, the terrain was occupied by Hungarian troops who were equipped with motor vehicles mounting a great many pontoons. 3. A border guard headquarters was also located in La7,yarovar. Its pineoint location could not be specified. Border guard troops from the post were sent to the Yurpslav border in Lay 1950. They returned in late September 1)50 and wore given a festive welcome (sic). * 4. On 29 September 1950, 123 members of the 1929 and 1230 classes were registered for the draft in Szecheny Hall? The registration staff con- sisted of one captain (Ned), two civilian physicians, one junior lieutenant and one party repreuentative. Except for two persons, all draftees wore classified as fit for military service. Lost of the draftees were assigned to artillery units in ;'iliscsaba (Q /801 .34) and some to infantry units in Nagykanizza (T 14./A 26), tank units in Esztergom (Q 48A 27), air force units in Gyper (P 48/Y 144) and to paratroops at an undetermined post. The date of induction, was not known. Ryas rumored that the draftees would be inducted on 13 October 1950. ** Comment. To date, only two border guard companies have been known 50X1-HUM to be stationed in hagyarovar. The one company was said to bolonr to th7 Guard Bn, the other to the 6th Border Guard 1ln. 50X1-HUM 50X1-HUM Comment. Dembers of the 1929 and 1930 classes wore nreviouslvrenortod ire ?een registered and inducted. Hence, the indiction of mothers of those classes can be considered as con- firmed.
