On 9 Darch 1951, only a few soldiers were seen at the Hubertus
Kaserne on the north side of nem:Anger leg, Haumburg0 ioy wore
red-bordered black epaulets, including some with artillery insignia,
and black-bordered black epaulets. Sono officers wearing tank in-
signia were observed for the first time, The number of trooes stationed
in the installation was estimated at 200. the 50X1-HUM
majority of the troops from the installation were at the Koeson training
area because machine gun and artillery or tank gun fire vas repeatedly
heard from that direction. No training activity was seen in the billeting
area of the Hubertus Kaserne. Recruits who remained at the installation
were emeloyed exclusivolv as luards. Lotor vehicles 50X1-HUM

2. Some of the troops stationed in the Hluecher 'iaserne on the south side
of Ilemminger eg seemed to have returned from the field exercises because
two barrecks buildings were again occupied to capacity by soldiers who
-wore black-bordered red epaulets without branch-of-service insignia.
Only rear details of soldiers wearing red-bordered black epaulets and black-
bordered black .epaulets were seen in the other barracks buildings. The
total number of troops in the installation was estimated at 300. Two
units were seen at training in the billeting area, each numbering about
60 recruits who wore black-bordered red enaulete. The garaeos in the

3. The Bismarck Easerne on -;:eissenfelserstrasse quartered 120 to 140 troops.
!.ctivities at the usual rate were observed in the headquarters building,
while the other barracks buildings were occupied by only a few soldiers
who wore black-bordered black epaulets. Seder's and trucks were parked in
the barracks yard. Truck was seen. All of the motor vehicle
equipment seemed to have remained in the installation.
4. The two 1,eildines of the Hindenburg Kaserne on choenurgerstrasse which
previously quartered student drivers wore vacant. The drivinp-school
vehicles also seemed to have been witlr'rarra from the installation. Trucks

depot) seemed to quarter. a guard detail of about 40 mon. late
