THIS IS UNEVALUATED INFORMATION
1. On 3 ATarch 1951 an unidentified infantry battalion arrived in Svilongrad.
2. Near the slaughterhouse in Burgas there is an emzmmition facto which
employs 1,500 workers making practice, blank and live small arrm a, nition.
There is a small armored unit located nearby which is believed to be
stationed there for the protection of the factory.
3. Recently female police have been seen in the various Burgas police precincts.
These female police have been assigned to traffic and investigative duties.
4. The following units are in Shumen:
a. Third .Army Heavy Artillery Regiment
b. 5 Divisional Artillery Regiment
c. 7 Infantry Regiment
d. Artillery Ammunition Supply Regiment (Ognostrelen Polk)*
_ nt: This is a new unit in regimental size. Formerly each
artillery regiment had its own ammunition supply unit (Ognostreino
Otdelenie). This may be a confusion in terminology.
